:bulletblue: :bulletblue: :bulletgreen: :bulletblue: :bulletblue: ITU Contest - Past and Present :bulletblue: :bulletblue: :bulletgreen: :bulletblue: :bulletblue:

The contest is now (for real this time) closed!

Sorry for the confusion, but yes the contest is STILL OPEN for another (almost) 12 hours! Again, sorry for the confusion!

If you have already submitted your entry but it has yet to be accepted, please do not ask us when it will be accepted! We have a big backlog and your entry is fine as long as you have submitted before this journal update.

Hello Members and visitors of :iconinspiretheuninspired:, and welcome to our newest contest!

Our last contest prompted you to think about the prospects of your past and future, and this time we'll be asking you to consider the relationship between your past and present! With the help of our admins and affiliates, we're in the process of compiling a prize list, so you can look forward to watching it grow! We look forward to seeing who participates!:D

Theme: The theme of this contest is "Past and Present." Consider your past and the events and decisions you've experienced and made: which ones have made you the person you are today? Now, keeping those in mind, here is your challenge: show us how you would be different if some pivotal, key event in your past changed drastically or never happened. In other words, if some very important event or decision in your life never actually happened at all or turned out differently than it actually did, what about you and your personality would be different compared to who you are today? What you'll essentially be doing is creating an alternate universe in your story or poem where you "took the other fork in the road" during a major event or decision in your life.

Feel free to interpret the prompt however you like! Entries can be fictional, but we're at least looking for fiction that was inspired by true events.:D Have any questions? Leave a comment and I'll help you out!

End Date: Friday, May 10th

:bulletred: In the author's description, you must state that your deviation was written for this contest, and include a link back to this blog. Please also briefly include what your inspiration was (e.g. what event in your life did you choose?) and how it relates to the theme.

I have about, what, nine or ten hours left? Now I finally have an idea. Wonderful. I'll see if I can get it in on time. If not, at least I tried. xD

I know that opening time can vary because of different time zones. So do not hurry and take your time. I think it is a good idea to give everybody a chance :)

That's alright! You submitted it twice, so we accepted the first one and declined the second :)

It's still Friday, May 10th, and it wasn't specified according to which time zone you're working, so I assumed EST would work.
Can I still enter the contest? Here's my entry - [link]

We fixed the time zone issue and the contest will be open for another twelve hours, so you can still submit it! Sorry about the confusion. :)

I'm a religious jew, and by the time you fixed it I couldn't use the computer until now, because of our laws.
I'd really appreciate it if you could put my entry in, as it was ready and linked here before the end of the contest.

Er.. but aren't you in EST? I am too, and it's only 1:30 PM, so I don't see how you can be on the computer now =P

Regardless, you did have your entry posted on time, so I will have it submitted to the folder. Sorry about that!

No, I'm in GMT+2:00 (aka Israel :) ), and Shabbath ended a few minutes before I replied earlier...
On Friday, I didn't remember the initials of the latest time zone, and had no time to check, so I used EST, which is also one I see often stated as the time zone used for contests.

Thank you!
