25th Birthday Contest!I'm Turning 25!
In honor of my quarter century (25 years old!) I want you to tell me what you want to accomplish by the time you are 25. If you are already 25, by the time you're 50. Older than 50, 75. Older than 75, 100. Also, if you're older than 75 you have mad props for being here.

The Catch: You can only use 25 words, and I want them to be poetic. You can use whatever format, but you have to use exactly 25 words. And they have to express your wish in a poetic manner.

I just read through my past journals and it seems this is my 14th lit competition here on DA, and my 17th competition overall, which is jolly! I have obviously been gone a long time so I wanted to meet people from the lit community and get involved again so this seemed like a good idea, plus obviously its almost Christmas so why the hell not!
The Theme
This year I asked my 7 closest friends to write their favourite memory from 2012 on a piece of paper about each of the other 7 (including me). They will all go into envelopes and on New Years Eve each person will get an envelope with these letters from the other 7 people about them. This is a great way to remind you of how far you have come in the past year, remember the best days and nights of that year, to feel loved, and it provides a permanent reminder that you can go back to in twenty years and remember this year. A New Year's Contest
The Mayan calendar finishes one of its great cycles in December 2012, which has fueled countless theories about the end of the world on December 21, 2012 at 11:11(UTC).

What honestly humbles me the most when it comes to dA, is that even when I am doing absolutely nothing, and seldom comment on your stuff lately (It's not due to me being uninterested, I just have become super busy lately, and I need to adjust my classwork/dA work) I still average at least 50 pageviews a day. I think that is lovely. While I don't look at pageviews when it comes to popularity, it's nice that my inactivity has made it so I am not forgotten.
So to show my appreciation, I would really like to kick my first year off on dA with a BANG. And that is with what? Making my own contest, with what as a grand prize? A One-Year Premium Membership

PROMPT CONTEST: JANUARYEach month #Shelf-of-Friends will hold a selection of prompts for group members to choose from. We hope through this that we can inspire others to write and create beautiful works.

To invoke inspiration, we have selected a format that group members must write in; we do this in hopes of motivating members to try and expand their abilities in other forms of writing. As for the prompt, there are three things members must choose from to use in the submitted piece and to help invoke inspiration:
a first line to be used in the beginning of the work;
a last line to be used at the end of the work;
a word to help invoke uniqueness for the piece.

*We suggest that you use only one, but if you feel the need to use all, that is also acceptable.

No overly depressing poetry (e.g. death, murder, rape, etc)

Submission can be edited and changed until the deadline.
Submissions for the contest must go into the "Scratch That" folder.
No collab. pieces.
No bribing judges.

The Literature Community ExperimentThis is a typical example of a ^Beccalicious shower pondering! The idea of this is to try and bring together as many people as possible all in one journal, but not for the sake of making a big number, but to encourage interaction and share useful tidbits. We often say the "literature community" has drifted apart over the past few years and this is just one attempt to try get people to come back together. It's a little hippy, perhaps a far-fetched idea, which is why I am calling it an "experiment". Hello Members and Visitors!

Welcome to #InspireTheUninspired's last contest of the year and first contest of the new year! This contest is going to take #InspireTheUninspired through this year and into the next so it is only fitting to have a theme to go along with it! With the help of our absolutely fantastic admins and affiliates we have managed to come up with this prize list! So please give our affiliates and donators some love!!!

Theme: This contest has the theme of 'Memories and Resolutions'. What are your memories of the year gone? What do you hope to achieve in the new year? We are looking for mostly factual deviations but you may write about fictional situations as well, it won't hinder the way we will judge your piece. Interpret the theme however you like and Be Creative!
Start Date: Thursday 22nd November, 2012
End Date: Thursday 31st January, 2013 at 11:59pm AEST
Judging Period: Friday 1st February, 2013 - Sunday 10th February, 2013
Judges and Judging Guideline: !Kymira12, ~Dusky-Inc, =Sammur-amat and *NotenSMSK.

The scores will be tallied up and will be scored out of twenty. You can get:

Five points for Creativity
Five points for Interpretation
Five points for Technique
Five points for Impact

Rules:

Must be a New Deviation.
All types of literature are accepted.
In your Author's description you must state that your deviation was created for our contest with a link back to this blog. Please also include briefly what your inspiration was and how it relates to our theme.
Members and members of affiliates may enter. You can find our affiliated groups in our About Us Page or on #InspireTheUninspired's front page near the comments.
If you contribute to the prizes, you may still enter.
You're only allowed to submit one entry, although you may edit it or swap it for another until the contest closes.
If you are a judge you can still enter but you cannot win any prizes.
Mature deviations are welcome as long as you follow deviantART's terms and conditions regarding mature content.
No fanfiction will be allowed as it will make it difficult to judge if we're unfamiliar with the background of your story.
The maximum length of your submission must be less than 5,000 words.
